We are all aware of the catastrophic failure of a Condo building outside of Miami. Failure appears to be related to defective concrete construction and deterioration, leading to an increased demand for tools to inspect concrete structures.
These devices measure the velocity and intensity of through transmitted low frequency ultrasound. Good quality concrete has faster transit time with less attenuation (loss) of sound. Absolute values can be measured or items compared to known good structures.
The other devices are imaging systems that can display rebar, voids, indicate thickness, etc.
